Salem State University

I spent a year studying graphic design in America and this is the collection of work I produced while out there. I built up my technique and skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and in design. I got the chance to experiment with illustrator, allowing me to learn how to use the toolbox it provides and explore its limitation. I learned to use points and played with different texts/fonts, a variety of brushes and delved into creating pictures from Curves. Building up my technical knowledge and combining it with my graphics tablet abilities, there was virtually nothing I couldn’t create. The world of graphics became my Oster.  Whereas before I was drawing in Photoshop, now Photoshop became my secondary Piece of software, more for editing and manipulating photographs. Being able to edit photographs to suit the need of my work, comes in very handy. It allows me to touch up pictures, make mock-ups as well as create wraps and textures. Finally, I got to develop my skills using InDesign, very complex software that can create powerful publishing pieces. I was able to design leaflets, Booklets and spreads. Over the course of the year, I realised what programs were best suited to be used for specific things. As a result of this, I feel I have learned to work faster and more efficiently.
