Leana OOS

A tribute to a little one who was gone too soon. Designed with her mum to make sure we captured the spirit of Leana using pinks and purples. We also felt that butterflies (free to fly about) and clouds (for the heavens) were important elements to reflect Leana.

Drawn/constructed in Affinity Designer on the Mac, printed out by a local print shop on an A4 Silk card 300gsm folds to an A5 to finish.

I also made a wee cross stitch to match the one made for her brother Leo. The pattern was drawn out on square paper and hand stitched.

Fathers day

Just something quick and simple with the help of the Epson creative library. I love cards and wrapping papers that are printed. Epson makes it easy to print, fast and fun ideas that add a personal touch.

Kenneths Bauhaus Birthday Card

For my arty uncle, I decided I wanted something arty. I played with block shapes/colours and thought it ended up looking very Bauhaus inspired and therefore perfect for an artist.

Drawn in procreate on the ipad transfered to Affinity Designer on the Mac to finish, a bold, printed out on an A4 Gloss card 210gsm folds to an A5 to finish.

Baby Daphne !

A card and wrapping paper for a new baby girl. After looking at a few ideas for girly baby cards I decided to take the colours and make an abstract. It seemed only fitting to do a cool funky girl print as her parents have that cool vibe.

Drawn in procreate on the ipad to create custom pink wallpaper. Affinity Designer on the Mac finished, a soft look, printed out on an A4 Gloss card 210gsm folds to an A5 to finish. A little silver coin was attached inside.

Iains 38th Birthday

Having spent the weekend away to celebrate iains Birthday I was short on time so decided to make a quick birthday card. Nothing too special just his age and beloved car.

Done in Affinity Designer on the Mac, a soft look, printed out on an A4 Gloss card 210gsm folds to an A5 to finish.

Olivia’s 21st

A special card for Iain niece who turned 21, something girly but not too over the top. I re used Daisy’s which were drawn for the wedding card as I really love how they came out slightly opaque and delicate.

Drawn in Affinity Designer on the iPad and finished on the Mac, a soft look, printed out on an A4 Gloss card 210gsm folds to an A5 to finish. A little pocket was added inside for Birthday money.

Kirsten & Matt’s Wedding Card

I wanted to do something special for this wedding card so I made my own flowers: Sweet Peas and Daisys which are flowers for the month of April. I also decided to make a soft dot pattern for the background and the envelope. I’m so happy with how it turned out, I added a little touch of metallic silver to highlight the box and flowers.

I started by drawing the flowers and background in affinity designer on the iPad then moved to the Mac to pull together all the text and patterns. The card is printed on Matt Koala A3 230gsm (cut and folded to 190mm squared) and the envelope is Hp everyday A3 90gsm. I then used my new scoring tool to create crisp fold lines and added the pocked into the card.

Star Trek Birthday Party

To celebrate friends fathers 70th I decided to go all out. I sewed my own Diana Troi outfit (from the next generation, season 3) as well as creating a bottle of ‘ Aldebaran Whisky’ and simple card.

Dress: pattern based on a paper pattern which I edited moving darts on bodice, lowering the waistline, lengthening the sleeves and added zip cuff as well as adding the front leg split. The fabric is 4 way stretch scuba crepe jersey in turquoise. I actually really enjoyed working with this fabric due to the forgiving stretch nature but also how formal the fabric looks.

Bottle: the bottle is an old caorunn gin bottle with new labels being printed on Matt adhesive paper. The front label is actually on the back of the bottle as I loved the ‘made in Scotland’ embossed as I wanted it displayed on the front. It’s filled with green apple syrup and the ingredients are listed on the new label.

Card: created in Affinity designer, simple design with a metal pin on the front printed out on koala (A3 cut down to A4) double sided Matt 230gsm folds to an A5 to finish.

Purple Watercolour Card

For this Birthday card, I decided to do a watercolour painting by hand using watercolour pens (Chromatek)on 300gsm watercolour paper, this was then scanned in and text added to create a digital card ready to print. I think this is also a great card as it goes with the gift of these pens so it shows what can be done with them.

Drawn by hand using real watercolour paper/pens gives a more original style piece true to work done years ago, printed out on an A4 Gloss card 210gsm folds to an A5 to finish.
