Dollhouse Part 3

The below photos are from August, I made bar-style stools for the kitchen using an old curtain tie and pot noodle cups. I wallpapered the living room walls in a cool textured patterned wallpaper. I then used balsa wood to create an L shaped couch which also folds out to be a double bed. It took a while to get a mechanism right ( a lot of trial and error) but I’m pretty happy with the outcome.

Dollhouse Part 2

The below photos are from the middle of June to July, I continued on with the interior walls and some wiring. I managed to get the bathroom wallpapered and I used wallpaper with a clear vinal over to top for the floor. I then moved on to the kitchen building the worktops and units below. I used wallpaper again for the flooring and painted the walls light green. I then focused on making the cupboard, drawers and washing machine actually function (well open and close).

Dollhouse Part 1

In 2021, during the covid/lockdown I decided to take on a new side project of creating a Barbie dreamhouse. I sketched out ideas then bought lots of bits and pieces and started to build my dollhouse in currently still working on floor one which consists of a kitchen, living room and bathroom. I’m hoping to have all sorts of handmade furnishings as well as working water and lights throughout the 3 story house but it’s still a work in progress. I’ve uploaded some of my progress pictures so far:

^ The above photos are from May 2021 to the middle of June, I managed to get the bottom floor constructed and the exterior completed. The inside is made from 5mm MDF with 3mm HDF board to line the walls. The outside uses ceiling tiles cut into rectangle bricks I then masked it off and sprayed it with grey texture spray to give the brick effect, I used grey silicon seal between the bricks to give an authentic brick and mortar feel.
